Modern automotive technologies that we love
Modern car technologies provide us with more and more comfort and safety every year. It is probably a matter of time before we become redundant in the driving process at all. However, until autonomous cars become more and more popular, it is worth following the latest technological developments and making driving easier and more enjoyable in all possible ways.
Modern vehicle technologies for comfort
A proximity sensor in keys and start button
What is difficult to use with traditional car keys? Nothing at all. A dozen or so years ago, did any of us think it would not be necessary to put them in the ignition in order to start the vehicle? Probably not. Meanwhile, the engineers in the automotive industry took the good old keys “to the workshop” and the results of their work are surprisingly good. For many car models leaving the factory today, we no longer have to look for the keys in our pockets. All you need to do is carry them with you and the car door will unlock itself. And once you are comfortably seated in the driver’s seat, just press the start button to start your car. This solution is especially appreciated by women, whose malicious bags often hide their keys to the car in the deepest corners and everyone who happens to go to the car with their hands occupied, for example, carrying bags with shopping or items intended to be hidden in the boot. As the example of the keys shows, modern car technologies can satisfy even those needs which we are not fully aware of.
This wireless communication technology enables you to connect your smartphone to your vehicle’s audio system. Thanks to it we can safely and legally talk on the phone with the use of handsfree sets and listen to music from a smartphone. Even more, possibilities are available when our smartphone is connected to the Internet. We can start navigation there, which collects information about traffic jams and accidents on an ongoing basis so that we are always guided to our destination by the fastest road at a given moment. In addition, we can also play music through car speakers through applications such as Spotify, Deezer and Google Music, from which we have access to millions of songs without having to store them on memory cards or hard disks.
When listing modern car technologies, which most enhance our comfort in the car, you can not forget about the USB ports, although it may sound a bit surprising. Meanwhile, the USB ports in the cars allow you to connect numerous external accessories such as navigation or audio players and allow us to charge smartphones, tablets or book readers. How valuable this functionality is for anyone who has gone on a long journey with their family.
Modern vehicle technologies for increased safety
Blind spot sensors
Most probably, every driver encountered a situation on the road in which they checked exactly whether there were any other cars on the adjacent belt and yet, during the maneuver, they were chopped down by the driver of the vehicle, who appeared literally “from nowhere”. That is why blind spot sensors make such a big difference, they warn us when we want to enter the belt, where another vehicle, invisible in mirrors, is moving in our vicinity.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of parking parallel or perpendicularly to the rear of a car with a reversing camera will not want to switch to a vehicle without this simple but incredibly functional addition. However, the rear-view camera not only makes parking easier but also prevents luggage or shopping bags from being left in the parking area, as well as increasing the safety of pets and young children, who can sometimes unexpectedly and unnoticeably appear in the place where we are reversing their car.
Active cruise control
In Poland, it has been only for a few years that we have been able to ride so long sections of motorways that driving on them can be tedious. Any driver who has gone on holiday by car, e.g. to Italy or Croatia, where we travel practically all the way on motorways, understands perfectly well that on such routes it is easy to lose concentration, which combined with high speeds can lead to an accident. Of course, we are assisted by modern car technologies, specifically active cruise control, which will not only try to maintain the maximum speed set by us but will also take care to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of us, adjusting our speed to its pace.
Parking, apart from overtaking and turning left, is one of the most difficult maneuvers that we have to do behind the wheel. Nowadays, modern car technologies reduce our role in parking to a minimum or make us redundant at all.
